The vehicle identification number, or VIN, consists of 17 characters and always ends in 6 digits. It is the unique identification of a car. It also contains the information about the series, model and configuration of the car. We need this number to customize our offers for your vehicle. You can find this number in your vehicle registration papers. In addition, it is also imprinted on the type label inside the car. You can usually find this label in the engine compartment or the drivers door frame. It is also often visible from the outside at the bottom of the windshield. ex. WDD212xxxxxxxxxxx
With this conversion, we install a supercharger to the engine of your car. The compressed air from the supercharger contains more oxygen for the combustion. The result is a huge performance improvement. All parts are manufactured with the highest precision for maximum power and accuracy of fit. The 2.3 liter Twin-Screw-Supercharger module used in this setup has several advantages over the common Roots-Supercharger systems. Shorter airflow routes and a smooth rotation result in a lower air temperature.
The engines of most modern cars are controlled by a computer called Electronic Control Unit (ECU). This unit regulates processes like fuel injection and ignition timing. Chip-Tuning is the optimization or replacement of the program code used in this control unit. Various parameters will be changed and recalibrated. These parameters include the amount of fuel that is used for each combustion or the boost pressure of the turbocharger. The result is an increase in power between 20% and 40% for a turbocharged engine, as well as a considerably higher torque value. Regular aspirated engines achieve an increase in power between 6% and 8%. Acceleration and top speed are noticeably improved. You can even lower the fuel consumption - assuming you maintain the same driving style. The engine will be more agile and more powerful.
An electronic performance improvement or software tuning is just the optimization of the control software. The increased power output of the engine will however affect all components of the car. We do not provide a warranty of any kind for damages caused by the increased wearout or stresses. We solely guarantee that the software, and therefor the engine, will run flawlessly with the new configuration.
By increasing the power of the engine, all stresses and wearout of the connected parts will also be increased. However, our performance improvements are developed by professional technicians and are optimized for power and durability. We pay attention to the stresses of all mechanical parts and take the manufacturers limits into account. Our goal is to develop a tuning that has power but is also reliable and material-friendly. A new car will handle this without any problems.
Theoretically there is no limit. One condition for the tuning is however a perfect condition of the car. If a vehicle can still tolerate the increased stresses has to be decided individually for each car. We do not provide any kind of warranty for damages to the car or its parts. You should also know that a car constantly loses power over the course of its life. This is very much dependent on the maintenance and servicing of the car. It is very much possible, that an older car does not even reach its nominal output anymore. In that case, our performance improvement will also not reach the indicated values.
Theoretically you can get the performance enhancement immediately. However, we recommend to drive the car for about 3000 km prior to the tuning, to rule out any factory-based damage at the parts.
We do not use piggyback tuning boxes for our performance enhancements. We use direct re-mapping of the ECU itself.
You do not necessarily have to bring the car to us, depending on the type of performance enhancement you want to get. For all of our electronic performance improvements we only need the engine control unit (ECU). It is possible to ship the ECU by mail, we will optimize the software and send it back to you. The removal and re-installation of the ECU from the car usually takes just a few minutes and we will provide you with a manual for that. If the performance enhancement requires the modification of other hardware parts, we will have to decide for every case individually. It may be possible to send the new parts to you and you can find a garage near you that will install these for you.
If you take the car to an official garage or the dealer for an inspection, it is likely that they will routinely update the software of the car. In that case, they will overwrite the performance enhancement with the factory default settings. However, for a small service fee we will restore the tuning software. You do not have to buy the whole tuning again. Alternatively you can buy a second ECU from us. The first ECU will have the regular software on it and the second one will have the tuning. Just swap the ECU before you take the car to the dealer and put the tuning ECU back in afterwards.
Every car is a little bit different. Therefore, we see every tuning as an individual project for a specific car. This way we can better adapt our offer for every customer.
The speed trap update is a piece of software that we are offering for the Comand Online and Garmin Map Pilot navigational systems. For the Comand Online NTG, we will send you a SD-card that goes into the card reader of your car and has to remain there, for as long as you want to use the speed trap update. If the card is removed, the speed trap update is no longer available. You can receive the SD-card with the software by mail. All we need is the vehicle identification number to prepare and activate the software for your car. The Garmin Map Pilot navigational software is already stored on a SD card and occupies the SD card slot of the car. On such a system, we have to install the speed trap update onto the original SD card. For this we need the card here with us.
All of our performance improvements are optimized for 98 octane (RON / ROZ) fuel. Only with this fuel can the engine develop its full power. Please note that in some countries the octane rating is displayed in MON / MOZ (98 RON ~ 88 MON) or AKI / (R+M/2) / PON (98 RON ~ 94 AKI). If the required fuel is not permanently availabe in your country, please inform us prior to the tuning. We need to make some adjustments to the software to adapt the performance increasement to the available fuel.
